The recognition highlights GMG\u2019s continued efforts to foster a people-first culture, promote employee empowerment, and implement best-in-class labour practices across its operations.<\/p>\n<p>The Emirates Labour Market Award is an initiative by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) that recognises organisations demonstrating exceptional performance in human resource management and uphold excellence in employment relationships across the UAE.<\/p>\n<p>Held under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, the ceremony took place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). GMG was honoured by His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes\u2019 Affairs, in the presence of senior government officials and MoHRE representatives.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mohammad A. Baker, Deputy Chairman and CEO of GMG<\/strong>, said: \u201cWe are honoured to receive this award from His Highness Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation. This achievement underscores our belief that sustainable business success begins with investing in people. Across GMG, our teams drive innovation, efficiency, and customer value every day \u2013 and it is their dedication that enables us to create positive impact for our communities and our country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>GMG\u2019s Everyday Goods \u2013 Retail division currently operates over 55 stores, and manages leading supermarket brands such as G\u00e9ant, Franprix, Monoprix, and monop. Following its acquisition of aswaaq, GMG added 19 supermarkets to its portfolio, further strengthening its contribution to the UAE\u2019s food security and retail growth.<\/p>\n<p>As part of its employee development strategy, the division equips its frontline employees through the GO EXTRA Frontliner Training Programme, which enhances their skills, knowledge, and confidence to deliver exceptional customer experiences. This reflects GMG\u2019s ongoing investment in people development and operational excellence.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s edition of the Emirates Labour Market Award, 100 winners were honoured out of approximately 18,000 applications.
