Our Sustainability Strategy framework reflects our operational ethos and supports our ongoing efforts to make a positive and responsible impact on our business, society and the environment.
The framework which was developed in conjunction with EY is built around Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. Aligned to key global and local sustainability trends, it showcases GMG’s commitment to creating positive, transformative change across the region and beyond through its three strategic pillars:
Planet Forward
The ‘Planet Forward’ pillar is aimed at ensuring that our company's actions are geared towards building a better planet for everyone, not just for the business, by tackling energy, waste disposal, water management, and recycling.
Waste & Product Lifecycle
We are continuously working towards significantly reducing our waste and improving our contribution to the circular economy. We commit to reducing our waste through smart inventory management and are working towards increasing our usage of reusable, recyclable and compostable packaging, and will thrive to achieve zero waste to landfill.
Energy Management & GHG Emissions
We are committed to reducing our energy consumption and emissions footprint to support climate action. We are committed to working towards monitoring 100% of our emissions activity and are aiming for carbon neutrality and operational net zero.
Water & Wastewater Management
We aim to reduce pressure on freshwater resources and are committed to investing in solutions to reduce water scarcity. We commit to recycling all our wastewater and achieving 100% water circularity within our business operations.

Ramadan Volunteering
We came together as one in a series of volunteering events to pack thousands of nutritious Iftar meals for families in need across the UAE. These meals were delivered by the UAE Food Bank truck on the same day, providing timely Iftar for those in need.
Mental Health Awareness Initiatives

Ghaf Tree Planting 2023
In May and December 2023, GMG employees planted over 1,000 Ghaf trees at our Trilogi warehouse in Dubai, demonstrating our environmental commitment. The Ghaf, the UAE's national tree, symbolizes stability and resilience in the desert.
